Goes against people's free will and fundamental Human rights. But, of course is excused by being in patients best interests. <BR/>I am not saying that there aren't times when say a patient is in acute psychosis where they lack mental capacity and medication is needed to protect their safety but of course any power, given to the MH professionals like power generally is subject to abuse.<BR/>I feel I have been coerced into taking meds myself on occasion not literally forced but whilst under the crisis team I was constantly told if I didn't take my meds which she watched me take I would be sectioned (which she knew I would do anything to avoid). <BR/>On the subject of medication I am not anti-med it works for a lot but it is not the be-all that MHS would have us believe- not for everyone at least.<BR/><BR/>P.s- see you are up early again.
